Earlier this year I shared the free pattern for this Murphy Slouchy Beanie. It’s been one of my favorite patterns that I’ve made to date, so I was pretty excited when my dear aunt asked me to make 3 of them for herself and her 2 sisters. I chose a super soft acrylic yarn to make the beanies but was just shy of completing the hats with just one skein (yarn chicken is a favorite past time of mine, and I lose more often then not). LOL!
Since I had almost a whole skein left after completing the beanies, I immediately started brainstorming a pattern I could make quickly with the remaining yarn. Hence, this Cozy Cabled Cowl was born.
It’s the same design pattern I used on the Murphy Slouchy, so you can make the set with just 2 skeins of yarn as well!
The most complex part of this cowl is the cabling, but if you’ve ever worked in post stitches before, you should have no issue making this cowl!

Medium weight (4) soft Acrylic yarn- I used Red Heart Soft- approximately 134g (or 2 full skeins if you want to make the cowl with the Murphy Slouchy)
6.0 MM crochet hook
